Sports Story of the Day- Michael Crabtree Likely To Start Against Houston

How does this happen? How does a guy who sits out the OTA's, sits out of Training Camp, and sits out the first 6 weeks of the season get the starting nod in week 7? I don't care how talented you are, its all about respect, something that Crabtree may need to learn. I mean the fact that he was arguing over a few million dollars he thought he deserved, and then accepting the original amount when he didn't get his way is ridiculous. I don't get how veterans on the 49ers like Takeo Spikes can stand around watching this. He avoided the entire rookie hazing process and thinks he can just come in and do whatever he wants. I understand that this may not have been all his fault, that he was under the pressure of his agent and his genius cousin who also happens to be his advisor, but he his a grown man and needs to make his own decisions.
"Samurai" Mike Singletary definitely had to be pressured to start this kid. There is no way a man who demands so much respect and performance from his team would start Crabtree under his own will. There was just so much anticipation for the two time Biletnikoff winner to get on the field that once he did sign, the fans or front office couldn't wait any longer.
He wont have to try too hard to do better than the guy taken 3 spots ahead of him. Darrius Heyward-Bey (2 catches, 36 yards, 0 TD's) is getting more money than Crabtree, which caused the conflict in the contract talks in the first place. If Crabtree can make an impact right away and can contribute, then he will be able to justify his holdout. If not, then he will be one of the biggest busts to ever be drafted in my mind.
